Have they put their prices up recently?
Have a family member going over for Xmas and was going to get something brought back but their prices are a lot dearer than I remember them.
Calumet in Belfast has worked out cheaper than the 2 lenses I was interested.

I dunno what its like compared to the euro, but the exchange value of Sterling compared to the dollar has dropped ridiculously in the last 6 months.

This has been happening recently, there have been some increases in HK prices too and Calumet are becoming more competitive at the moment

Think I just found where I'll be getting my 40D from. Cheers AR!

Don't forget weakening of the Euro to USD. The course is not so good anymore.

Kerso is still cheaper than Calumet for the 40D, he's £550 and you can get cashback on that price.

eh, no. Add in shipping etc, and kerso works out around 730€ or so.

If you are really smart you get B&H/whoever you but from to ship to a friend out of state to avoid sales tax (over 8%). I was in NY 2 weeks ago and had got my stuff from NY, shipped to my friend in LA who brought it from LA to NY for me and saves €400 extra from not paying sales tax.

Not really an option for most people who'll be in NY for a week or so.

Thankfully for my last US trip, I bought dollars at 1.57. Then when I bought my 16-35mm in B&H, I had an exchange rate (on credit card) of 1.51.

Worldwide currency exchange rates are really causing hassle.

Tell me about it. I booked a trip to New York for December back when the dollar was about $1.55 to $1.60 to the euro thinking I’d pick up some nice bargains but now I think it will just be a sightseeing visit. :(

    Same as that.
Flying over the end of next month and didn't bother buying dollars as was planning to use the debit card over.
Had been planning to pick up a laptop, a few lenses and maybe a K20D.
Aside from the lenses I don't think I'll bother now.

I'm heading over in a few weeks but I bought my Dollars back when they were $1.57 to €1. Happy Days!!!

Now will I buy the 70-200mm F4L IS or the 70-200m F2.8L IS?

    :)
