hi - not sure how to access the legal section - I'm having issues with accessing it...........a close family member is separating from his wife in the States, it turned out that she was an absolute nutcase - does anyone know anything about annulments, etc????

Er, we can't give legal advice, and even if we could, this is Ireland, not the states.

Tell your friend to go to a solicitor.

It depends largely in the state and their divorce laws.

When you say annulment, are you talking religious or legal? A religious annulment still leaves you legally married and you'd have to go through a divorce as well to have that contract disolved. Legal annulments are rare and not much point to them with divorce as an option.

Other than that, Im not sure what answers you are looking for.
