LittleBigPlanet has big potential. Right now it is just a game but the firm, with Sony, are in talks to turn it into a franchise that could mean spin offs including comics, cartoons, and action figures as well as a publishing platform itself for other brands' content.

Alex Evans (LBP developer) says: "There's been a lot of being in the right place at the right time. When we went to Sony we were a tiny but very experienced team. Sony had to trust in us in terms of the quality of people.

"It was amazing how much they understood what was a new concept; it was quite blue sky."

Even before the game has hit the shops, the team are already at work on a sequel.

    Already? A sequel?

I thought LBP would be more of a one off type of game.

Na, that game has too much potential, its almost limit less what you can do with it, the PS3 as powerful and all as it is, is actually a limiting factor in the size of levels that can be built. It's a very scalable program that you can keep adding to with various parameters in physics and materials.

LBP is a very solid base to work of and I can see it being used in alot of different areas, Sony could even get rights to use the tools so that it is built into the PS3 as a firm ware update to create a custom desktop for various profiles on the PS3.

It could or may be intergrated into future parts, or variants of Home. Someone made a working 8 bit calculator from scratch with this software as a beta, that just shows how far this could go given enough time and money.

What more could you do in a second game except create different 1 player levels?

    A calculator? WTF???

Edit: Wow. That is a really brilliantly engineered calculator.

Seriously. That calculator must have taken forever.

Was just Lying I'm bed. Then it struck me.

First person lbp. Like you can see through the sacboys eye-things!!

And when he faces you, if you have a camera connected, it shows you!!! That would be so fun!!!

Thats what the guy from MM wants to do ,some first person game using the same tools.
Not sure he meant for it to be lbp2 though ,he mentions making an lbp for the psp aswell.

Add water effects. That's one thing I would like to see anyway. Also, introduce gun-type gadgets. It may go against the cute nature of the world, so perhaps make them like paintballs or Nerf guns or something.

You can box each other when playing ,I had a boxing match with someone from my psn list. Great fun.

It's more of a slap tbh.

Hold L2 and move the left stick swiftly from right to left and your Sackboy will slap to the left. The opposite for the right.
