i`ve been trying to install windows xp home edition on my machine.
i tryed to do a fresh install on the pc but the pc kept booting while installing and starting over (its a original cd xp home edition cd), eventualy installed, but when it rebooted freezed half way over and over, after trying to installed again nothing would happen, so i came across of linux, witch i installed on the pc with no bother, but i still want to install windows but it wont boot from the cd.
i set it to boot from cd\dvd and the pc says"press any key to load form cd"
but when i press it still loads the linux doesnt install.

    please help

If your Windows CD is a bootable and installable version then I do not see what could be preventing it from installing on your machine (other than a hardware problem).

Best practice is to delete the existing partition, create and format the new one. Then install Windows onto this partition.

thank you for your reply, i just got it sorted. the problem was the usb keyboard they stopped working after selecting cd\dvd boot drive so when i pressed any key nothing was happing so would just continue to load linux.
so i bought a keyboard and a mouse ps2 and worked.

    thank you for your help
