Last night, on one of my regular ebay browses for MVS carts, I came across someone selling a "100% WORKING PCM MOTHERBOARD'.

I was intrigued, as it was very similar looking to the NEO MVS and I'd never heard of it.

Did a bit of a search and turned up nothing. Turns out it was 'PGM', not 'PCM'.

Anyway, seems like there was another whole arcade cart based system that I didn't even know existed. Even weirder as Cave use the hardware for some of their shooters.

The games seem a bit more expensive as they're rarer than MVS titles, but I bought the system anyway as some of them really look great and it was going for cheapish. It even has a Metal Slug clone which is meant to be quite good.

Here's a pic of the ebay auction. Scary how similar it looks to MVS.

I was on a site recently looking for neo geo bits and bobs, and they were selling various versions of the above, some with additional upgrades like component out etc. Seems like a nice system !

I take it they were consolized systems? There's one on ebay at the moment but it's selling for £400+.

What's the website you were looking at? They have a few at http://www.coinopexpress.com/products/pcbs/pgm.html

Selling Demon Front for $165.36. Bit outside my price league at the moment unfortunately.

Guess it's just going to have to be ebay!

Have you got one yourself? Any idea if it's possible to get games cheap(ish)?

As It'll be coming next week and this is beginning to look very tempting

Do you shockbox all your carts?

They look great but the price combined with postage is a bit rich for me. I've been looking around to see if there are any similar cases I can buy in Ireland. Some oversized VHS boxes come oh so close!

I might just get one of those steel travel case type things with a foam insert and put them all in that.

Cheers for the link to the guy on neo-geo.com! I never noticed they had an 'everything else' sale forum there.

i mean shockboxes are great now i mean if you have people over alot and stuff and space to keep it go for it, there is even atomiswave shockboxes well actually that is just old ea megadrive boxes, hold pcbs in which you can get artwork for, but there is artwork for all the games, also There are boxes you can get to

Now there must something in the rainy depths of Ireland :D, though then you have the problem of artwork, i guess you can touch them up in Gimp or photoshop, if i come across any i will Pm with my results ect....

I've heard of this system before. A couple of the scrolling fighters are meant to be excellent. The Dodonpachi sequel isn't considered too great though.

Its still an amazing machine though, from a small company, and the red cases look sexy, At least it didn't over hype itself like the atomiswave did, saying oh yeah were the next Mvs.

I think they're a Chinese company? I must go have a rummage and make a wiki. Just stuck on a college pc at the moment so the firewalls blocking me.

They brought three new games this year. Oriental Legends 2, Pirate Treasure. They've another one upcoming called Speed Driver 2.

Wasn't too fond of the Dodonpachi sequel. While dodonpachi was crazy but fair the sequel is just impossible for anyone other than the super human.

Just had a look at the wiki and they said Cave didn't develop Bee Storm Do DonPachi II. That'd probably account for why the fans don't like it.

Do DonPachi II was going to be on my list of games to buy until stupid me realized it was a vertical game :o

I suppose I could always get another cab and set the monitor vertically. Yes! That's what I'll do.
