If you want to get fit then I'd recommend a sporting style - Kickboxing, MMA etc. You don't have to go anywhere near the competition aspect if you don't want but the various gyms have really good fitness training. If Drumcondra is of any use to you I train in the Kokoro Gym. See www.mmaireland.com for more details. Otherwise, for realistic self defense take a look at www.ucireland.com or talk to Baggio who posts on this forum.

    Good Luck.

NUI Maynooth Self-Defence have a modular Personal Protection course that we run, although we're a few weeks into it at the moment. Keep an eye on our website for when the next one is starting.
Alternatively, some of the other instructors do private sessions too but you're best off contacting them directly through the website if you're interested in that.

    Hi Sharp

We do 8 week continual Intro course which focus on the self defence aspects
of Silat and Kali. You can join in at any time. At the end of your 8 weeks if you decide this is something you want to spend more time learning you can sign up and do a more intensive course. Good luck with your search
