I am 18 years old and I have yet to go on a date or date at all. My friends are now starting to get on my case dictating that i need to date. That I will never find anyone. I would say I am shy and quiet but I don't think it is wrong that I haven't dated yet. Is it bad that I have not dated yet?

    ive a cousin like that

    he's 29 this dec

hasnt had a date in 10 years or sex etc ( thats his own business )

but the longer you leave it to date or ask a woman the harder it will be

im single , but no prob meeting women , sure they can say no etc but thats it , its just a no , its like asking for an ipod in newsagent all they say is no

people attach humiliation to no when chatting to a woman

the more times women say no to you the easier it is to meet a woman cause u realise a no is just a no plain and simple

ur somebodys choice or not , most important thing to know is theres nothing wrong with you

just go to diff places u usually go and say " **** it " and just ask somebody do they fancy a drink , none of this bull**** chat-up lines

    just be urself

    best of luck young man

Don't beat yourself up over it, there are plenty of people who will be in similar situations. The worst thing you could do is force yourself to do things that you are not comfortable with, when I say that I mean changing who you are and becoming a complete extrovert when as you say you are quite shy.

Just relax and don't think about it too much because then you feel more anxious just take things slow. Start by getting comfortable in situations where you need to meet new people, then build on that.

Hope this was of help best of of luck

    Peace

i didn't start dating until i was nearly 19 and three years on i've had my fill of men. i've ticked off all he classic dating and relationship milestone: flings, cheaters, 'true wuv", iving together ect. i would seriously not stress if i was you, focus on what makes you happy.

I had that problem from the age of 16 or 17. The parents of the kids I used to babysit were always nagging at me about 'breaking the ice' which used to annoy me, it was none of their business. Then my so-called friend started telling me I was afraid, which i was but she was twice as afraid. Now I'm in my mid 30s and have only had one boyfriend (for 4 months) and it's not looking too rosy for me in the future. but in my experience, there's no point forcing yourself to do things you're not happy about just to get a date who may turn out to be totally wrong for you in the end anyway. I want a boyfriend but I'm not prepared to embarrass myself or pretend to be someone I'm not just to get one.

Your only 18, you shouldn't be thinking you'll never find someone. you've plenty of time.
