Going shooting tomorrow

With a UK college rifle club.

When I joined up, they had boxes of live ammo just lying around on the table. you could pick up a .22 round and play with it. Given that this was in a sports hall with more then 3000 people passing through over a few days, this was kind of surprising.

First email: come down to the range tomorrow and learn how to do target shooting with semi automatic rifles. Now, this was written by the guy who tried to persuade me that a .22 round was an air pellet.. but can't wait to see what kind of crowd are running this place. Especially as these 'semis' are anshutz target rifles.. I musn't have been using mine properly.

None of the people I have met so far would have lasted 5 mins on the RO courses I used to put on back in Trinity. Makes me really pissed off that people are promoting shooting in such a cavalier manner.

Rhona Barry's scoring the ones for DURC, no idea who's doing Rathdrum's ones unfortunately. Someone is going to be highly baffled after my second round though. :p

I don't think RRPC have a scorer, given the electronics..

And like hell I'm mailing these back to Dublin, given that I am living in the UK and all that..

No, that's the first round. Using a 10/22 would be about my only excuse for that card. :o

Next one is, er, slightly nicer. :p

Hi zara - rrpc is on holliers this week. What postal cards are you talking about? In Rathdrum we're shooting the Ulster Counties League, but we've had an issue with the setup on the electronic targets which is preventing others from shooting that league at the mo'. (IWM take note!). When rrpc is back, we'll sort it out after the Leinster Indoor next Sunday (2/11).

zaraba is also shooting cards for RRPC, fat-tony. He's just doing it in England. He's wondering what address to send his cards to, since he has to send them soon enough.

Does that mean my cards haven't counted or what?

I've pm'd zara with an address. Don't worry - your scores are safe:D
It's just that we can't seem to run the subsequent details until the first one is complete. We'll fix it this weekend!

Bugger, was hoping I'd get another chance at it tbh. :p First card is painful. I'd leave the second one there though. ;)

    Cheers F-T!

Got the address of the scorer from John so sent off the cards today.

Today was last day of shooting for round 1 right?

Yep. You send in all your cards at once zara?

I don't know if I will have any range time over the next two weeks so I did rounds 1 and 2 just to be sure!

Good plan. I've just got the first round done for DURC, up as far as round three for RRPC. I'm going to try and get a couple more in for DURC as I get down during the weeks so I'm never caught for time with them. Off to a decent start for Trinity though, so far I'm averaging about three points better than my Rathdrum cards. :p:o

I didn't know you could enter twice for differnt teams!

I didn't have a choice. I arrived back in October to be told by a certain Mr. Fowler that I'd been entered. Best part is each club's given them a different average. :o
