    Where should the pads be placed - mid forearm or elbows.

    How far apart should the arm pads be.

    Tried a couple of positions but the bike seems pretty unstable at these

    Can I get some advice please and thanks

    Not being smart but there is absolutely nothing we can do with the above information. And to be honest you are not going to get a good fit solely on information supplied on message boards. Bar the rider, the position is the most important thing about a bike. Get an experienced friend or clubmate to check you out. Or idealy go to a decent tri oriented bike shop for a fit. Worse comes to worse check out the fit articles on www.slowtwitch.com for how to get a good position. Be warned though there are about 20 pages on it.
