Racehorse names

Watching the news there and there was a horse running at Doncaster called Skanky Biscuit.

It made me chuckle. What other mad racehorse names have you heard of?

I remember hearing Robbie fowler and steve mcmanaman bought a racehorse together and named it "some horse".

Mary Hinge was a classy sprinter in the early 90s. No-one really noticed anything strange about her name until the same owners chanced their arm naming another horse Betty Swallocks which was refused by the authorities, who then noticed that Mary Hinge was also an interesting spoonerism.

Noble Locks ran for a few years , but sadly 'Sofa King Cool' and 'Shy Tall Knight' were forced to be renamed by the racing authorities before they ran. (Say the names quickly).

I heard a similar story about a horse called Kew Tour but it might be a myth.

I think there was a Kew Tour running alright, as I recall it the commentators used a very forced enunciation whenever they mentioned it.

I love the youtube clip, coming up to the bend I was trying to work out which name was the funny one, then it became kinda obvious. :pac:

Mate of mine worked in the racing department which allows/disallows names, said it was great fun as they had to say each name out loud, in all sorts of different accents to check for double entendres, also keeping up to date with dirty slang and rhyming slang etc.
(As well as watching out for more mundane stuff like copyright/ political messaging/ racism etc).
