I regard myself as a mountain biker, and that is what my life is all about. I do it because I haven't yet found something that is more fun. I have never been paintballing yet, but I have the option of going on a trip to Ballyhoura to do 5 hours of mountain biking (free), or else go to Combat Zone paintballing with a couple of friends (€20/30). I am in a bit of a dilemma and do not know which one to do! Any opinions or comments would be great! Thanks!

Sure you can go mountain biking free anytime, go and have a laugh with your mates.

    Paintball is never €20-€30 euro!

you will usually end up buying loads of ammo - think 50 -200 if you get carried away (every minute is a mad minute!)

I have done both and think paintball is a great craic but very dependant on getting the right crowd, you tend to have either a great day out or a very mediochre one!
If you have a big gang of friends going the great but if not you are very dependant on the other people who turn up, a single knob jockey can really ruin the day.

At least when you get out on the bike you have control over your day and adrenaline levels, not much hurry up and wait, also this is the cycling forum - replies may be biased, along with your subconcious telling you what you should really do :-)
