Does anyone think the Macbook white will be discontinued any time soon?

I'm thinking of getting a MacBook maybe after christmas for some video editing. However, I am worried about the lack of the Firewire port in the new Macbook. Therefore I'm wondering whether or not the white Macbook will be discontinued before then, does anyone know anything or am I just worrying over nothing?

If you are purchasing from Apple, then you will not get a white Macbook at all. Unless you happen to find one in the Refurbished store, you should find some on sale in the many Apple resellers but stocks will be limited as time drags on.

If you are looking to do any serious or heavy duty video work, you ought to be looking at a Macbook Pro and it's better graphic card specifications.

Why would you be looking at a better video card for video editing?

Also why do you say you won't get a white macbook from Apple, it's still for sale on their site? The new Macbooks are not exactly a replacement for the older one as they're much more expensive with specifications a lot of people wouldn't need. Like the 9400M. and if that's their plan then it's ridiculous - raising the minimum cost of the already expensive cheapest apple laptop.

On a circular sent out to retailers with pricing for the new White MacBook, it said "Prices valid while stocks last"

I would read that as being that they are clearing components before replacing it.

Because normally a older line is removed from the Apple store when a new one is introduced, I am a little suprised to see that one of the older models is still on sale:o

the tweaked the spec of the old model a bit and kept it for sale...

reading around it looks like they wanted a sub $999 laptop in their offerings...
