MP3's to CD

I got a new car recently with a 6 CD changer in the boot. Most of my music collection would be downloaded and in MP3 format. The days of CDs on the shelf are long gone in my household. I attempted to burn a few albums onto blank CDs but these failed to work in the CD changer in the car. Any ideas on what format I should be burning files in so that I can play them back in the car...?

    Something like this should do

    http://www.nch.com.au/burn/

tis free too. Just make sure you are creating an audio cd and not a data cd

if you are using nero tell it you want to make an audio cd , most other burning programs have a similar feature

if you're making an 'MP3CD' you should try putting the MP3 on the root of the CD, ie. don't have albums in subfolders. Should be able to get around 170 MP3 on one disc.

The other option is to burn an 'Audio CD' and Nero will convert them to WAV format and burn them to CD. You should be able to fit about 18 songs this way.

Thats what I wondered, if the player would be able to do mp3s direct from the disc. Even cheap ones do it these days.

I think it strange they still put cdchangers in new cars, and why the hell so few cars come with a 3.5mm jack to take a personal mp3 player, must cost a few cent to put it in, and yet I have seen car ads having this "5cent technology" listed out as a big selling point!
