One crew member was bitten and another was headbutted at 4am and 5am respectively.

The same man was involved in both call-outs.

Spineless. Should have turned the hose on the fcuker.

Its an absolute disgrace, examples should be made of anyone attacking the emergency services.

These people are the lowest of the low, Hollloween around the corner now in which gangs of youths see the emergency services as easy targets to attack, honestly as a society attacks like this should never be tolerated. Maybe we could all take a leaf from the over seventies and start to demand change in regards to what should happen and how to deal with such thugs.

Thank God members of the AGS are to get Pepper Spray, its the least that could be done and long over due.

    Paulzx,
Have to agree totally with your last sentiment. The longer the better. How long more must ourselves & yourselves wait before the respective management of both services acknowledge the dangers we face every day & give us more ppe etc.

To be honest Buzzman i'm not really one of the people looking for stab vests etc. All the ppe in the world doesn't stop a headbutt or a bite. What i would like to see is proper custodial sentances handed down and then ensure they are widely publicised. There is an element in our society that will never be worried about the consequences of their actions but hardline jail sentances would make some of the wannabee scumbags think.

Outside of physical assaults on the person the amount of stoning incidents involving our fire appliances is becoming ridiculous. It has got to the stage where as individuals we are becoming immune to it and regard it as the norm.Where i am stationed i know of 2 incidents of stoning in the last couple of weeks and that is only on my own watch. The other 3 watches are having the exact same problems.

We are unfortunately breeding an underclass of scum ( not pc to say it ) and God help us as country as they get older
