Rude Sellers on Ebay

I just have to vent here! What is the story with sellers who are rude on ebay?? I sent off a question recently about the size of a top as it wasn't specified whether it was US or UK sizing and the feedback on seller said their sizing in a few comments. I got a reply back saying it was australian sizing but they would be putting up the measurements on the listing so it wouldn't matter if it was a russian size or a mars size and i shouldn't waste their time with idiotic questions! Wtf????// Obviously they know i'm not going to bid on their item now, would it have been that hard to say its an australian size and equals uk sinzing as x or something

Anybody else has experience of rude ebayers?

it's full of them, some helpful before you buy and item, then as soon as you have paid for it you never hear from them again (looking for tracking number etc)

Asked someone recently if they knew roughly how much an item would be shipped to ireland and he replied 'how the fcuk would I know, I don't sell to you b*ast*ards'. Pretty shocked by that tbh.

I would have reported him straight away, they cant be let away with that.

I feel good now. I've never had any problem whatsoever with anyone on eBay.

But I'm always mannerly and respectful.

Do you guys ever re-read your messages before sending them? You may unintentionally seem like a whinging prick, and im sure ebay sellers put up with a lot of people messaging them who clearly have no interest in the item or are legitimately asking stupid questions just to annoy the seller.

Although said seller could just be having a bad day. Who knows?

I did report him, never heard anything back though. Usually I get a poilte 'I don't ship to Ireland' so I leave it, or a seller replying happy to make a sale. :o

I bought some xenon bulbs from a seller with huge positive feedback... When I pointed out that they were cheap hallogen bulbs with blue tint he replied.... " what the f**k did you expect for €12".. I checked back and he is still selling shed loads with positive feedback on his xenon lamps..

I hear sellers on eBay complaining all the time about receiving stupid questions but that doesn't excuse the seller in OP's case. I reckon OP had a legitimate question and he didn't deserve such a nasty response. The best thing to do in a case like this is just vote with your virtual feet. A tude like that should not be rewarded.

I read a "theory" of sorts recently that explains why sellers may receive stupid questions all the time. Some buyers may ask stupid or questions with very obvious answers because they are testing the seller to see if they get a polite and/or swift response. If the buyer does get a such a response, then they know it's OK to do business with that seller.

Me too except for one seller in Northern Ireland replying 'southern Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom'

To date I've mostly had positive experiences on Ebay. However, on the few occasions where I've received negative/rude responses. My response is to get a dozen friends to email the seller with the same questions just to pi$$ them off.

For every rude seller there's at least one rude buyer, trust me.

in alot of cases, the information is in the listing, however, there are alot of lazy buyers that just dont like to read listings properly ..especially with the new view item layout.

You get rude people everywhere.... i found there are a hell of alot of rude people on boards too. ive seen people ask simple questions and they get these smart arse replies for know reason other then some fool wanting to look like a know-it-all

I hope that you left him negative feedback too? I find like several posters have mentioned that for every rude eBay seller there is a rude/stupid buyer.
That said I have had very few bad experiences either as buyer or seller and my gripe with eBay is with the invisible owners/operators. Communication with them is utterly pointless. :)
