Men with Hats

    Take Five Brain Teaser
Men with Hats: There are 4 men each wearing either a black or a white hat. They are standing in rising water, cannot move and can only look forward. Between A and B is a brick wall which they cannot see through. They know that between them are 4 hats of which 2 are black and 2 are white, but they do not know which colour they are wearing. In order to stop the level of water rising and drowning, one of them must call out correctly which colour hat he is wearing. They are not allowed to talk to each other and have 10 minutes to fathom it out.
Question: Which one of them call out, and how does he work out which colour he is wearing?

The man lettered (incase others want to go on guessing)
'C' shouts out. He knows his hat is white, because he can see that the hat in front of him is black. He assumes that if his hat was also black, the guy behind him would have long shouted out that his was white. So therefore he guesses (correctly) that he must have a white hat.

If C does not know that there is someone behind him? He cannot move so may think that there are 2 people behind the wall because he can only see one in front of him.

(this is just summizing, Peanut head that is more than likely the correct answer that u gave I would think)

well if there were 2 men behind him, then the guy at the very end would be able to see all the hats (as there are only 4 men) so then he would know for sure what hat colour he had, and shout it out.
