    Hey,

As the thread title states, i'm curious as to whether people think it is worthwhile getting CoD4 with WaW not too far away, i used to play the original on the PC and used to play with some of the best in Europe(Supermen and now Dignitas) so i've always had a soft spot for the game. I have it on the 360 so i know a bit about the game still but just curious about opinions.

    Regards,

    Nick

cod1 is pretty far away from cod4 in terms of gameplay, but as regards your actual question wait for cod5 tbh as cod4 will most likely die as soon as cod5 comes out as it wasnt as liked as cod1/2 were on the pc

Can't see that happening any time soon to be honest.

Not sure what to suggest really OP.
Actually what might be a good idea is to wait and buy COD5 in 3 weeks, play it to bits, then move to COD4 and it will seem like an upgrade of sorts seeing as you'll be moving from WW2 to modern weapons! :pac: (Plus come the end of the year/new year COD4 may drop in price).

Go for COD 4 right away but be sure to get it with the new map pack bundled with the game. Lots of places still sell the original without the new maps. But defo go for COD4 because it will drop in price now that the new one is coming out and well based on the beta version, COD 4 is still a way better

call of duty 4 and the call of duty engine was made by infinity ward and published by activision. call of duty world at war was also published by activision but made by treyarch. bottom line is they both have the same engine but cod4 was made by the guys that designed that engine, they know it inside out, unlike treyarch who are playing in someone elses sandbox. dont get me wrong treyarch will probably do a great job but i dont think they will be able to top cod4.

p.s. infinity ward made cod, cod united offensive, cod2 and cod4. the rest were made by gray matter, spark unlimited, pi or treyarch and in my opinion the only particularly good ones were infinity wards.smile.gif

Ive been playing the COD5(WAW) Beta Multiplayer on and off all day since 830 am this morning(and a bit of COD4 which as usual I thoroughly enjoyed) .In the light of this Id strongly reccommend you buy COD4.The collectors edition has a version of the Brady game handbook/guide and an SAS dvd (cant believe I still havent watched this a year later...)

Its a rediculous statement to say "play co5 to bits", ive played the beta version on pc and honestly its not a touch on cod4,definitely buy cod4 as people will constantly play it for years to come, not a chance cod4 will die

    Buy it surely.
I will buy COD 5 but expect it to be only as good as COD4 with different maps as it will be very hard to beat. I think I will be COD4ing for another while to come. 10/10

Grey Matter made UO alright. Grey Matter was actually merged into Treyarch.
