Has anyone got a digisender that actually works with the NTL PVR? I don't even need something that works the remote, just one that will send the picture.

I've tried practically all of the ones that Argos sell but can't get any of them to work.

Yes, I have one, I think it's a "one 4 all" I'd have to check when I'm home but it works fine, remote also.

Sorry about the delay, home computer problems. :o

My sender at home is a "Total control" thing that I got in Argos, relatively cheap. It works fine with the DVR.

Bought this yesterday and had it up and working in about 5 minutes. It works great, really useful to be able to watch your recorded programs in another room.

reception is great, but its only going about 10 feet with a wall in between. There's usually a few channels you can set it to in case there's other interference.

I tried the Total Control one and it worked fine but the recention was poor. Conatant clicking on the picture and sound. The transmitter is downstairs and the reciever upstairs.

I tried all 3 channels but nothing helped. Mine is going back to Argos tomorrow :(

SteM, that is the same as my experiences with this one. I also need the signal to travel from an upstairs back bedroom to downstairs front room. Balls.

    Hi

I was trying to talk someone through setting this one up over the phone but it didn't go too well!

Could you tell me which cables should be connected to which sockets?

It's the UPC PVR box and I know it has two Scart sockets on it. Does it matter which socket is used to connect to the TV and which is used for the transmitter?

It's only going through 1 wall over about 10 feet so the reception should be ok, right?

    Thanks

There's two scart outputs on the DVR. one is already connected to the TV, just connect the other output to the transmitter box.
On the other TV just connect the receiver to any scart connection and select the AV channel manually. There's 3 channels available so make sure they're both on the same one.
There's also an IR receiver to stick to the front of the DVR and connect to the transmitter but that can wait until you actually have a transmitting signal.

These things use the same frequency as wireless networks so watch out for interference. I used to have one and the wireless would cause clicking of the sound and flickering of the image. I could get around it by changing channel on the sender.

I had a look at it this evening. The second scart on the UPC box was connected to a surround sound unit. I took this out and connected the transmitter to it. All I could pick up was the audio on the other TV. There was no video signal at all.

I tried putting the transmitter scart into the first socket on the UPC box (the one that was connected to the TV) but it wouldn't go in properly.

Do you think there might be something wrong with the scart cable itself? Or is it something else?

Sorry to hijack this thread, I bought one of the TV senders from Aldi today and have hooked it up to the UPC DVR - http://www.aldi.ie/ie/html/offers/2867_7420.htm

The picture is fine but I can't get the remote to work on it. From searching around it should work. Any ideas? Where exactly is the IR receiver on the DVR box. I am supposed to put the the IR device within 1cm from it but I am not entirely sure where to put it. Any help really appreciated.

I think its most of the black bit on the front of the box(where the LCD and buttons are). I stuck mine between the LCD and the buttons and it works fine.

I eneded up buying this one from maplins in the end, cost €80 but it s a 5.8GHZ unit so apparantly less likely to suffer from interference and has a longer range.

It works with the UPC DVR and the reception is excellent for me.

I ended up using this one, the picture and sound quality were much better than the Total Control one (although the unit look the exact same) but when I turn it on it seems to cause my wireless connection to drop!

Change the channel on the sender (if possible) or your wireless channel. To do that log into the router, it'll have to be changed on your PC too.

    Hi,
I bought a digisender from currys.
When i went to hook it up i could get perfect sound but no picture at all.
Damn NTL box has no video output.
Tried to hook up the yellow whit and red cables through the scart through a scart adaptor but nothing at all then no sound even.
    Anyone ever had these issues?

Are you sure the connection wasn't just loose? I had that issue before, a bit of fidgeting fixed it.

You really need to spend some time configuring these to get the best out of them, it could mean a slight move in the aerial or changing the angle of the sender/reciever....give it time and you'll get it in the end, mind you I've only ever hooked these up to a Sky box and they've always worked very well
