Good physiotherapist in Galway city?

Basically sprained my left knee badly 9 months ago..

I thought it had healed okay (i had it seen to a few times), the only time I felt any pain in my knee was after a long round of golf.

To be honest I'm not sure which ligament i sprained. But from a quick google of knee ligaments I think its my medial collateral ligament and my cruciate ligaments which are giving me trouble now :(

Anyways I have started doing some short runs ~10km in 40mins

Afterwards (i.e. the next morning) my left knee is very achy and if I run and play golf the same day it's so sore I can't complete my swing fully.

So I want to get this sorted out before I start running more.

    Any suggestions on a physio?

    Thanks

    Dan

Try James O Toole Sports MEd West Henry St, 091586007 has sorted out all my injuries last two years, knees in particular. No BS, and dont expect a couch!, but he is very good.

Can anyone reccomend a good physio in the galway area who might be able to sort out a lower back problem?

I've been to a few over the last few months.

Only one that found my problem and sorted it was Tricia in Bailey point Physio.

They're expensive but imo worth it as i'm fixed, wheras the previous ones took my cash for no results :/

The other recommendation is Emma in Galway phisiotherapy clinic. But I would only recommend her as my wife swears by her for helping with her disk problem.

John Butler in Liosbaun, treats a lot of people in the triathlon club and a lot of people who run marathons so has lots of experience in sports related injuries.091-767473

I would recommend the crew at Baily Point Physio in Salthill, Michael Gallagher's clinic (091-589696) , and also, even though I've only used her once, I find Aofaine Walsh very good. She is on Sea Road (091-588362).

Not sure about Bailey Point, but Aofaine charges 45 euro.

Feargal Geraghty is very good, he helped me with ankle and calf problems late last year. He's about 15mins outside Galway, in Drom. He's the fitness coach for Salthill Devon too! http://www.thera-fitnessltd.com is the website.

Mairead Conneely used to be about €45 but I haven't seen her for a while so I don't know what she charges now. She is really hands on and is very good. There is a lady called Sharon in the Galway City Physiotherapy Clinic in Lisbaun. She is big into bio mechanics so is particularly good with structural problems. She has a treadmill and camera which can be very useful if you are a runner and need to understand why you are doing something wrong.

Jane-Ann Healy in Oranmore is a serious runner and is supposed to be a good physio too although I haven't attended her.

would highly recommend Jane Ann with Physio4U in Oranmore. She is a great physio but also big into her running which means she understands how seriously disappoining it can be to get words "like no training for x amount of weeks". I have found she strikes a great balance in getting me fix up with as little disruption to my training as possible.

As well as the physios I mentioned earlier you could also consider deep tissue sports massage. I go to a lady who, as well as doing private work, works alongside the Physio at Connaught Rugby. She also travels all over the world with the Irish under 20 side. She is also a good runner having run a couple of marathons. She has private rooms in Flood Street. Her name is Regina Flanagan 0879606630. She is very good.

Resurrecting this thread as I have a shoulder and arm problem at the mo.

Have had a read thru but is there anyone who you would specifically recommend that specialises in tennis type problems? I am awaiting some info on the lady in the tennis club from another source but want to harness the power of boards on this issue too before booking an appmt.
