Need solid facts on computer repairs.....

    Doin an assignment on computer repairs, iv been looking online for a site that can give me statistics on repairs such as % of repairs that are software related, hardware related, ya get the idea....any ideas? Thanks for any help.

    You wont get them. Microsoft doesn't publicly tell how many people are forced to reinstall on the same keys or have any real way of reported failures of its OS.

    Hardware manufacturers don't release details of percentage failures of its hardware unless it becomes so high that its obvious in mainstream media.

    Best thing you can do is ring alocsl pc shop and ask for the stats. they obviously wont be specific though.

    Glancing thru our stats...roughly for Desktops: 5% Hardware 95% software, laptops 25% Hardware 75% Software...
