    Hello,

I had a projector in my sitting room, and it was great untill the bulb went. I did a bit of research and decided not to bother getting another bulb, as it was very expensive (almost get a new projector for the price) and the quality wasnt great.

So i decided to buy a projector. http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=342123&view=detailed#ProductTabs i found this one and think it is very nice and cheap. is there any advice that anyone can give me, when buying a projector. or any other site that may have other good projectors?

It is good value, but it is only 4x3 so will not display widescreen without large black bars top and bottom, and the native resolution is very low, only 800x600 which is ok for a boardroom presentation.
I would never go for any projector that isnt at least 1280x720 which is 720p so you watch films properly and use it for pc and gaming and blu ray. Also make sure the resolution stated is its native resolution, as the one you listed will display 1024x768, but it will actually look worse because the screen is trying to show the image using the wrong number of pixels.
you would need to spend more , but the difference is Huge.

the cheapest projector that komplett has that would do is
    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=347041

But you have to make sure it will fit your room, so check throw distance and height settings which are normally available from the manufactures website in an online calculator, it will tell you how far from the screen the projector needs to be as well as height from the ceiling etc to work properly

thanks for the great reply! ya the only thing is funds are a bit low, we are buying it between 6 of us and we dont have very much money behind us. I had asked komplett about the resolution, they said it would be fine. would it be really bad? ya i know the ratio isnt great, but like i said short on cash. is there any other sites that might be better then komplett?
