Sadly, as a lone independent, and being in the seanad, the only thing Shane Ross can pass is wind.

He caused Eamon Ryan a bit of discomfort on Morning Ireland just now.

Shane Ross can nail someone down on the radio, or be lively in the debate, or use his Sunday Independent platform to talk about issues in business, but in the Senate as an independent, its a fairly lonely place.

Independent TD's or councillors have more power than independent senators.

Its a shame, as Muck said, his proposals have great merit.

Ryan went ahead and peddled all the usual lies we epect of him :(

"I have every confidence in the Minister’s grasp of his brief, particularly with regard to broadband."[/I]

Well well well the greens show their true colours, a disgusting shade of greed and a despicable shade of brown. The country will show their gratitude to the greens at the next election. This kind of nonsense will be well rewarded and thankfully they will disappear just like their erstwhile colleagues the now defunct PDs. Good riddance to them and their utterly corrupt policies (the greens that is).

The minister has morphed into the most heinous of politicians: an FF minister
    with all the expected platitudes.

Most Irish people have no confidence whatsoever in the ministers grasp on anything, expect to hold onto their jobs at all costs.

I, for one, look forward to the total electoral annihilation of the greens.
