Don't think Craig has posted this here yet but seeing as there was a fair amount of interest in the last one, I thought it would be worth letting people know. This will be a show to feature what British fighter will make it into the house.

    SJP Press release
Three Sitjaipetch fighter will be fighting on the new UK Contender season 2 Eliminators Show, which is been filmed for TV.
The Event is sanctioned by the WMC and following on from the huge success the Contender season 1 got, Season 2 promises to be another great series, it has got great reviews world wide and has help put Muaythai back in the Spot light
These are the 8 names that will contest for a place in the house in Singapore in February 2009

    The chosen 8

    Richard Fenwick

    Daniel Hudson

    Steven Jones

    Craig Jose

    Chris Shaw

    Tim Thomas

    Jordan Watson

    Jay Woodham

reserves: Lloyd Cochran and Steve Patterson

    Undercard to include...

Andy Howson Vs Super K Sitjaipetch WMC Title Fight

Michael dick Vs Super Boy Sitjaipetch WMC Title Fight

    Olly watson Vs Steve Primrose

    Pual Kelly Sitjaipetch Vs TBA

We are just waiting on Paul Kellys fighter to be signed and name will be released

However, EVEN bigger news and well done to Craig for swinging this

The Irish Muaythai Council has just been give the rights to hold its own eliminator's for the Conterder series 3 next year, which is santioned by the WMC, this will be a great oppertunity for any Irish Fighter to step into the lime light and shine, also fight for the biggest prize money Muaythai has to offer, this year prize for winning the Series is $250,000 which is been held in Malaysia.
72 kgs is an exciting weight in Ireland so could turn up some interesting fights, With a Goal worth fighting for a chance at Contender Series 3 House

    Nice.

One thing I'd like to see in the contender is a 2nd weight class, run in parallel. There aren't too many Thai's weighing in at 72KG. Really you're only looking at lads who normally fight in the 70-80KG range (JWP was in the 80's at the start of the last season IIRC).

Anyway, I enjoyed last season. Looking forward to this one. Might run that betting pool again that we did last year if there's enough interest.

Congrats to all 3 Sitjaipetch fighters,

    Paul Kelly winning his fight,
And K and Superboy winning their world title fights
A clean sweep at any competition is impressive but when when there's two world titles involved it makes it an outstanding result!!!!!!!
And im sure Sean, Dave and Craig and everyone else there represented Ireland with pride,
    Well done all !!!!

Wow, what a fcuking show. Top class production, great fights and great results (especially from an Irish/Thai point of view:)) Paul Kelly did great, fought a very clever fight against a strong opponent and took a deserved points win. Super K was just absolute class, and that is no disrespect to Andy Howson who fought very well but was just up against another level of fighter in K. I feel sorry for Howson cause he took it very bad and thought he didn't do well at all.

SuperBoy had a handful of a fight with a very determined strong and aggressive Michael Dicks who basically tried to knock out Big with punches and elbows. The strategy worked for 2 rounds when Big went toe to toe with him but then regained his composure and totally outscored Dicks.

The Contender fights were awesome and from his first fight I thought Jordan Watson looked the best, particularly the way he beat Tim Tomas who I know from old as he beat one of my lads in Galway some years ago. We managed to tape his fight and hopefully will get it online soon.
When's this gonna be on teilifís?

It was supposed to be this Wed on Sky Sports 3 at 9pm but the feckers have put it off till Dec 17th on SS 2 at 10pm. Hopefully they won't edit the sheet outta it, as it WAS a great show.

Some nice comments for Paul Kelly from Tony Myers about his fight, you know your doing good when that happens!!:)

Gonna be in Thailand then. :D

If anyone would be good enough to record it for me I'd be really grateful (I don't have SS anyway). Would really like to see the howson and the PK fight.

Just in case you don't get it recorded Khannie, you can buy the DVD from www.contenderasia.co.uk and it costs £17. Well worth the money for it, as it really was a top show.

Good to know. Cheers. Pricey enough mind you. I'll see how desperate / poor I am when I get back. :)
