RTE Archives to DVD?

    Hi,
I'm not sure if this follows the same rules as other programs since it's freely available on RTE to watch etc so please delete if necessary.

My dad wants to watch this series: http://www.rte.ie/tv/transatlanticsessions/prog1.html but doesn't have a fast enough connection where he is so he asked me could I put it on a DVD. I've been googling and everything for ages and when I finally figured out how to download the RM file from the SMIL file, it turns out the video itself, although 94MB and 36 minutes long each approx, the two I've tried have just been blank on Media Player Classic.

When you open the SMIL file in notepad, it says to start playing at about 2:45 and to end at about 27:00, but even between these times in the file, there is nothing.

If it's ok, could somebody please explain what I'm doing wrong, if anything, and how would I go about getting this series onto a DVD for my dad?

    Any feedback appreciated :)

Strange, when you go to download the RM files, it says they are 94 mb, but when you click them on the desktop, they are only about 18mb??

Nope, they don't play on my pc at all. They seem to have downloaded fine. Don't really have a clue what's up. They play fine from the website streaming..

they are protected specifically to prevent this, afaik it isn't possible to legally download these type of files for distribution.
