Buddy of mine can't think of the name of a film. I reckoned it was one of the old Texas Chainsaw Massacres but he doesn't reckon so.

he said it starts off with a few people in a car driving through some state in the US. they drive through a small deserted town, and come across a stop sign with a lash of bullet holes in it. they run the stop sign, prompting this fat cop to follow them for a while. he turns on his sirens eventually and they freak out and they decide to floor it. there's a small chase. the cop presses a button inside in his car which further up in the road makes a diversion sign appear from the ditch. this causes them to pull over. cop takes them to a huge old run down house. he brings them inside to a run down courtroom with a big fat judge, that turns out to be the cop's father. he takes their driver license (which is key for some point according to my buddy). they have to stay in the house for a few days will he comes up with his judgement (we're a bit hazy now at this stage). later on we meet the family, and it turns out that the whole family are big obese weird mushes. the father tries pushing the driver onto the daughter, getting them married bla bla bla. they try to escape, and end up in the cavity in the walls of the house. they look through the eyes of a picture into the fat daughters room...and now his hazy memory has gone totally blank...(oh ya, they end up escaping and tell the cops. cops say they know about the judge but don't wana touch him cos he gets the job done. then he realises that he still has his license (thus is address, thus why it was a "key" point) and the film ends)

    any ideas?? :D

Sounds like Nothing But Trouble, a truly terrible, terrible film. Especially when you see the cast.

Yup sounds like Nothing But Trouble - a really really poor film

Strange thing is it's been broadcast a few times on terrestrial television over the years - Pretty sure I saw it on both BBC and RTE . I think I saw it on RTE in an afternoon slot and on BBC late at night.

Reckon you should probably have a check about what the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies are about.

    Hint:
The clue is in the title!

ya it was a bad movie alright, but the thing that bugs me is i was convinced that chevy chase was in it and john candy, but when i was researching it i still managed to miss the film. one of the lads i live with (who ive been bugging to think of this film) was convinced that i had dreamt it up, mixture of different movies
