    Hi,

Has anyone flown NY to Las Vegas? I am going around end March time, and would love to get a few days in Vegas. The flights are all coming in around €300, which is more than I would have expected. Has anyone done this route before and where might I find cheap flights - I've tried Expedia, all the individual airlines etc. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something somewhere!!

    Thanks,
    Angelica Rocks!

    Single? Return?

A return will set you back around the 300+ dollars mark - remember, it's a 6 hour flight almost (nearly as long as Dublin to NY). Weekends, holiday periods and times when big conferences are taking place will spike the price.

Have you looked at JetBlue (jetblue.com) and Virgin America (virginamerica.com)? Both fly from JFK to Las Vegas.

I picked a random day at the end of March and the cheapest one way flight was $189.

American Airlines, Continental, Delta, US Airways all fly from NYC Airports (JFK, La Guardia and Newark) to Las Vegas....as well as the two mentioned by Buffybot.

Have you already booked your flights to New York from Ireland? Sometimes, it works out cheaper if you book your transatlantic and internal flights on a multi-trip booking.

JetBlue tend to be more expensive on major routes like NYC-LAS than the legacy airlines.

most of the US airlines have cut back on their least profitable routes (ie cheap fare routes) since the start of this year. one of the big casualties was las vegas which by 2009 will see a drop off of air traffic by between 15-25% since 2007

finding cheap fares to vegas will be much harder these days. just looking at skycanner.net there are flights available for 137euro via jetblue at the end of march http://www.skyscanner.net/flights/nyca/las/march-2009/cheapest-flights-to-las-vegas-mccarran-from-new-york.html

Try Virgin America. They launched a new service from JFK in September.

I got one-way prices from NY to Phoenix for about $120 per person with JetBlue, I'd imagine Vegas prices would be similar if you can shop around.
