Perhaps even a course focussed on art on paper and forget about silly petty things like logos on computers.....

That's right people. I would enlist the help of my most trusted comrades in this search for the ideal course for studying anything *even in close relation* to illustrating comics.

So far I have found no art courses that don't involve overuse of computers or learning how to design a logo. Surely someone could name even a few courses off the tops of your collective heads.

For those of you who produce a significant amount of help, my gratitude is yours.

Considered going abroad? http://stuffsucks.com/index.php The girl/young lady that does this comic studied art in London afaik. (doing English lit in Manchester now I think). Her email address is on the website and she is very nice, I'm sure she would tell you about the course and what it was like if you emailed her.

Viscom in NCAD. They're not as PC heavy as the likes of IADT.
One of the guys last year made a graphic novel as his degree project.

You could try contacting Bob Byrne of Clamnuts

He might be willing to teach you? I know he is interested in helping develop an Irish comic scene so he might be on for it.
