Fluctuating moods

I've moved out of my home to a shared flat recently, so I've been adjusting to being independent and free and all of that.

But I've been experiencing fairly extreme mood swings. From being very content with myself and a smile on my face one hour, then the next hour fighting back tears and feeling worthless.

I'm single, 22, male, and don't really have much friends where I moved to so I'd spend a lot of time by myself, which I don't mind 'cos I prefer my own company to others anyway.

What could fluctuating moods signal, if anything?

galwayguy, i'm not being smart with you, but i'd really suggest you go see your gp about this. you will probably get a range of answers on here with possible diagnoses, but the reality is that based on the info above noone cound state for definite what is going on.
it may be an adjustment to your new circumstances, or you may have a mood disorder. the person best placed to tell yu that is your gp.
    good luck!

You're probably just adjusting to your new surroundings.
If you were happy at home then leaving the security of it maybe a little traumatic.

I'm sure you'll be grand in a while and love your new life but if not then you may want to get yourself to the GP.
