connecting Satellite Cable to NTL box

Trying to help someone out with a switch from NTL Cable to satellite TV. All the houses in that estate were geared towards cable so theres just an NTL cable entry box at the front of the house - so no cable getting dropped down from the attic.

Is it possible to run the cable from the dish into the white cable box at the front of the house - disconnect the cable connection and use their/the houses wiring to the two TV points upstairs and downstairs?

Will this work? Is it the same standard cable? Is the splitter they have in the white box for the two runs compatible with satellite or is it specifically for NTL cable?

you need a separate uninterrupted good quality (preferably tx100 or similar) cable going from the dish to each satellite receiver. IE no spliitters and you must use F connectors for the join in the box at the side of the house and weatherproof it with amalgamating tape or similar.

I'm using tx100 but I don't know what ntl use from their white box on front face of house leading to the two receivers??
I don't know what I was thinking of today - I assumed their splitter was a diseqc switch but didn't look at it properly
If the NTL cable is not up to scratch, its going to make things messy as only way of getting sat cable in then is running conduit down the corners...which isn't going to look very pretty..

If its fairly new cable then it should work over short distances

Thanks Tony. House is approx. 5/6 years old so hopefully it will work. Would be a run of 25m (approx) to get to the ntl box - and then probably 5 meter additional run from there.
Will have another go at it on Sunday.
