Say I get a car a 04 Focus from the uk with 8 months Mot, does that mean it has 8 months nct?

    Or how does it work?

I know this has probably been asked a thousands times, but I cant find it.

    Thanks

They're two completely different things, you'll have to NCT the car here.

The first NCT is due 4 years from the date of first registration. When you import the car here the NCT is due on it from the date the car was first registered in the UK, just say this was January 2004, this means the NCT is due now and when you get the NCT it will be valid for 2 years from January 2008 and not the date it's actually NCT'd, you then NCT it January every 2 years thereafter.
