what I don't understand is why you'd spend time knitting when you have a computer right there.

I'm terribly impressed Volvoboy, thats several lines of perfectly uniform knitting you've produced there.

Pay no attention to the others, they're just jealous.

Aw that makes me want to cuddle you and go 'AW! BLESS!!!'

I am generally quite artistic but I was a woeful knitter at school. I knitted pink mittens and the 'stitches' were all tight, not nice and soft. I knitted a successful red hairband though.
My sister however knitted a balaclava at school :D:D:D. It was ridiculous! It was green with a big dark brown circle at the back. It looked like a big hole 'cos she'd dark hair. My mother made us wear it.:o

I thought knitted clothes were punishment for kids. I have family in Ingerland and every time I went to visit them my ma would knit these jumpers which were green white and orange or had shamrocks on them. Needless to say I just wore t-shirts for a week no matter how cold it was.

Also remember her waiting about two months to finsh one of these jumpers she had started because the shop had run out of the specific wool...by the time she got it the Jumper was too small for me.

Anyone else see a pattern forming here?
Not many purls of wisdom appearing and lot of nit-picking in this thread. Quit needling the poor OP. You people have to stop acting like nitwits.
Now if we could all please get down to the nitty gritty and stop putting yarn in the corner.

    Sorry.
Bad puns leave me in stitches.

When you were a little nipper and your mother happened to say that she dropped a stitch when she was knitting, were you stupid enough to crawl around the floor trying to find it for her?

I remember in 1st or 2nd class in national school the hole country went knitting mad, everyone in my school took up knitting because their was some sort of knitting championship. The younger brother of one of the lads in my class was so good at knitting he made it onto scratch saturday (was it scratch saturday? some saturday kids show anyway) for a knit off. He came 2nd making him the biggest loser in the country. He was unrelentlessly bullied for the rest of his life.

The jumper was not too small for you. It was you that was too big for the jumper.

For Christmas time, Pighead shall knit his lady friend a jumper with a picture of his face on the front of it. And she shall wear it.

Your male OP, why admit it so publicly?

Were I capable of knitting I'd never admit it.
