Backup software for Windows

    Hi all. Just wondering if anyone knows of an Open Source backup utility for Windows that'll backup to a SCSI tape drive. It has be to able to split up a large amount of data (4TB+) across multiple tapes. Thanks.

    Have a look at bacula it may do what your looking for but theres a good bit of configuration required.

    Edit:

    The Windows servers (Director and Storage daemon) are available in the binary Client installer. The are reported to work in many cases. However they are NOT supported.

    Oops your right. I use it on RedHat but thought they'd a Windows port. It's just the client management software by the looks of it. Sorry bout that!

    Cobian might do it. It's GPL but I can't see if it'll back up to SCSI devices - should do tho.

    4TB ?

    for the amount you will need to spend on the drives and tape rotations you could easily afford a unix/linux box

    then use the unix/linux box to pull files from the windows ones SMB / rsync
    you could even setup a few TB locally with some large SATA drives so you only need to copy the deltas while having the full data set ready for a full backup

    maybe use a NAS so the windows machines store data on it and it does it's own backup
