Downloaded game update Xbox now borked.

I downloaded an update for NHL 2008 and now my xbox wont start.

I turn it on and the green Xbox logo comes up but just freezes.

Any idea on resolution?

You may need the clear the cache to erase the update that caused it.
(Note: clearing the cache erases every game update)

Although you can't do that if it won't even boot up to the blades screen.

You could try to remove the Hard Disk and power on the console without it attached, and see if it still boots. Just to be sure that it still starts, and see if it may be a cache issue.

If your console doesn't boot as far as the menu, you could try hold LB and RB when powering on the Xbox, that is supposed to clear the Cache also.

You need to hold them before switching on the console, and hold them until at least after the Xbox 360 Logo disappears.

take out disk.. my halo disk randomly broke inside xbox. it wudnt get past green screen till i took disk out.

Thanks for the advice, it started working again today, then i get the RROD, tried it an hour later and played it for about 20 mins before it froze.

Is it best to just send it back to microsoft?

Im waiting for this to be delivered from play, waiting over a week now. Hopefully I wont have the same problem!
