Ebay Shop Item Purchase Not Working

Hi, I purchased some (new) dvds from an Ebay shop recently (Gamealot/Plus DVD) when i received the dvds in the post, the discs were loose inside the case and scratched a fair bit, i didn't really mind at the time as long as they still worked ok. When i started to watch them though i realised that wasn't the case. The first series (i'm Alan Partridge :D) had glitches in all the episodes i watched (pixellation in some, others skipped forward or back loads or stopped entirely!) the other discs for series 2 were much the same (only watched half of those and got very peeved)

I got in contact with the seller and informed him of the problem and got a return address and posted them back. A week later i got a message saying they had tested the discs and couldn't find a problem, which is a load of bull (i tested the discs in 3 different players, one of which was brand new,all with the same results) So they said they will send them back at my expense. The discs are definitely faulty and not through any fault of my own.

What can i do about this? I'm not prepared to pay yet more money to get discs back that were fecked in the first place!

Help or advice greatly appreciated! :)

How long has it been since you won the auction? If it's less than 45 days you can start a Paypal claim (assuming you paid with Paypal), citing that you've returned the discs and are awaiting a refund, and are not interested in paying more for bad discs.

If it's been more than 45 days, you can do pretty much nothing.

Thanks Jor El, unfortunately for me, it has been longer than 45 days due to their slow posting and subsequent delay in getting back to me after i sent them back to get checked.

So there's nothing i can do at all now? i'm annoyed. nearly €50 down the swanny....

EDIT: i think i payed via 3v card actually, does that change anything? probably not...

I sent them a strongly worded message demanding a refund or an exchange as the product i was sent did not work properly. I stated that i knew my rights and wouldn't take no for an answer. They caved in and said they will send new copies out when they arrive back in stock (or offer a refund!)

Score one for the wronged consumer! :)

if you have passed the timeframe for a dispute, unfortuantely, he is not forced to do anythin about a strongly worded letter.

might sound silly, but are you sure your machine is not dirty?
otherwise, id recommend that you leave feedback that reflects your experience
