You need to be a member of an NGB of one of the martial arts affiliated to the Irish Martial Arts Commission. See www.martialarts.ie for further info.

The only recognised one's are provided by the sports council. Like everything else in this world, including the triangle choke, you can learn it all on distance learning courses via the internet, none are recognised and will cost you a pile. The coaching courses provided by the NGB's of relevant arts are cheap as chips.

It'll be coaching from an athletics point of view. It won't teach you any martial arts per se, for example there won't be a section on warming up for Ninjutsu or kicking for Taekwon-Do.
It'll be more about how to structure your class from an athletics point, if you're involved in a sport based MA well then it will serve you well.
