full stops & bulletpoins on a CV

    Hey guys

    hope yer all well

    Im doing out a cv at the moment and im not sure whether to put a fullstop at the end of each bulletpoint.

    any i deas what the ruling on this is?

    I generally don't, however I really don't think the employer/HR administrator is gonna notice. Once the layout is neat, accessible, well spaced out and consistent, that's the main thing... oh and as long as the relevant info is there :)

    I agree with the above. As long as you consistently use or don't use full stops after your bullet points, you should be fine.

    That's generally the convention alright. If you are writing more than one sentence per bullet, then I think it should in fact be numbered - but will have to check up on that.

    As AARRRGH says; just be consistent.

    Personally I don't use full-stops on bullet points, but I know some people that are a stickler for them (even though I think that they're wrong). In my view, bullet points are not sentences but instead sentence fragments.

    Whatever you choose, be consistent throughout. That's very important.

    I agree that it is incorrect to use them, but unless you are specifically taught that, you would probably assume that no punctuation at the end is incorrect.

    A little off topic, but I attended a course in business writing by Carr Communications in Sandyford a while ago - I would really recommend it to anyone.
