    I was Black.

    1. d4 c6
    2. Nf3 d5
    3. Bf4 Bf5
    4. e3 Qb6
    5. b3 e6
    6. Nb1-d2 Bb4
    7. Be2 Nf6
    8. 0-0 Nb8-d7
    9. Nh4 Bg6
    10. NxBg6 h7xg6
    11. c4 Qa5
    12. Nf3 Ne4
    13. Bd3 Nc3
    14. Qc2 Ba3
    15. Ng5 Ke7
    16. c5 e5
    17. d4xe5 Nxc5
    18. Bxg6 f7xBg6
    19. Qxg6 Ra8-f8
    20. Qxg7+ Ke8
    21. Qg6+ Kd7
    22. e6+ Kc8
    23. Be5 Rh8-g8
    24. e7 Rf8-e8
    25. Qe6+ NxQe6

    0-1

This was a blunder by my opponent, who was naturally very frustrated by his move. However, I led him into Bxg6, which is why I did Ke7 though I should have done 0-0-0, though I wanted my queen coming back to d8.

Is this enough to win for White? I didn't think so. It's Blacks move. Thoughts?

    *EDIT*

Here is the game before White played Qe6+ ??

I don't see how he could win from this....

Its hard to tell. I didnt look at it in detail but black must stop the threat of Qxg7 which will lost both the rooks in the position shown I am not sure how he can do this as R-g8 also loses both rooks after Q-f7+.

    Thanks for posting your game.

@Cowboy Dreams, I played Ra8-f8. This stops both rooks from being lost.

My opinion is after 21. Qg6 all hope is lost for White to get a checkmate. I think e6 was the best chance for White.

Scenarios I think Black is better after 21. e6: (Forced)

    21. e6 Ne2+
    22. Kh1 Qd8
    23. Nf7 Nxe6

    21. e6 Ne2+
    22. Kh1 Qd8
    23. Bc7 Qe7
    24. Nf7 Nxe6

It's a complex position, and I've included the other scenarios for people.

Here are Whites ways of winning (Unforced)

    21. e6 Ne2+
    22. Kh1 NxBf4
    23. exNf4 Qd8
    24. Qg6 Ke7
    25. Nf7 Qe8
    26. Re1 Ne4
    27. f3 RxNf7
    28. e6xRf7 Qxf7
    29. QxQf7 KxQf7
    30. f3xNe4

    (28. f3xNe4 Rf6
    29. QxQe8 KxQe8 )

White has an advantage in these lines.

    So 22. ... NxBf4 is no good.

    21. e6 Rh8-g8
    22. Qf7 Kd8
    23. e7 wins for White

    21. e6 Rf8-g8
    22. Qf7 Kd8
    23. e7 Kc8
    24. Bd6 Re8
    25. Ne6 Ne4

Black looks okay, but not great

    so...

    21. e6 Rf8-g8
    22. Qf7 Kd8
    23. e7 Kc8
    24. Qf5+ Nd7
    25. Nf7 Ne2+
    26. Kh1 NxBf4
    27. e3xNf4 Bxe7
    28. NxRh8 RxNh8

    Black loses

    21. e6 Rf8-g8
    22. Qf7 Kd8
    23. e7 Kc8
    24. Qf5+ Nd7
    25. Nf7 Ne2+
    26. Kh1 Bxe7
    27. NxRh8 RxNh8

This position is in Whites favour.

    21. e6 Nxe6
    22. NxNe6 Ne2+
    23. Kh1 Rf8-g8
    24. Qxb7

White has a great advantage now.

actually 15...0-0-0 drops material to Nxf7, so you can't really go there. If you castle kingside he also has ideas of Bxg6.

I would much prefer to be White in this position. Black's pieces are cut off from the defence of his king and are badly placed to stop a potential White passed pawn (any of the 5 kingside pawns). White has already got two pawns for his piece and can get more material without losing all of his initiative. For example, in the game he could have played 21. Nh7 winning an exchange instead of 21. Qg6+. And I don't believe you really have anything better than 19...Raf8 -- you could go Nc3-e2+-xf4 or something, but it doesn't necessarily help.

The only small problem for White is that it will be hard for him to include his rooks in the attack. However he is not so far behind on material that he has to rush anything.

Ah, yes. I knew there was a reason I couldn't castle!

    21. Nh7 RxNh7
    22. QxRh7 Qd8

    21. Nh7 RxNh7
    22. QxRh7 Nc5-e4
    23. e6 Qd8
    24. Bh6 Ne2+
    25. Kh1 Qe7
    26. Qg6+ Kd8

White does look easier to play for, but I think if I hold off this attack, I'd come out better.

both of those positions look practically resignable! You are dropping another exchange (to Bh6 and Bxf8) and White will have two rooks and three pawns against your three minor pieces. Once he opens a file for the rooks (probably f3 and e4, though in the second variation he has to be careful of the trap 27. Bxf8 Qxf8 28. f3?? N4g3 winning) it will be all over.
