I was wondering if anyone can help me answer this.

I know ur passport gets stamped on entry into Ireland but does it get stamped on exit?

It usen't, but I heard there's a new law in place that makes it so. Is that true?

    Thx in Advance!

I'm fine. But asking this for other people. Basically non EU residents like Malaysian, Hong Kong etc.

afaik you only get stamped while entering a country and going through that countries border control in the airport after you land. I could be wrong, but that's the way it's always been for me when travelling abroad.

In some countries like Japan, u get stamped on the way out as well. So that if u overstay ur visa, whether working or holiday, it'll be very hard for u to get back in again. This is to deter people for applying a holiday visa then hiding in the country for working purposes.

There can be loads of different stamps, dependiong on the passport and the countries visited. Some countries (eg Moldova, Cuba) stamp their own citizen's passport as they enter AND exit their country

Most countries have a stamp on arrival, and a stamp if you register with immigration authorites (for work, study etc)

Obviously EU countries do not stamp EU passports, and Ireland do not stamp any passports on exit.

In my experience alot of non-EU countries stamp on exit.
This is to have a record of when you left clarifying you didn't over stay the visa.

I have an Australian passport and visited Ireland twice this year. On both occasions my passport wasn't stamped on exit. Spain was the only EU country that stamped my passport on exit... but then not many of them even stamped my passport on entry. *shrugs*

Whenever I escape from this island, it is via Dublin Airport or Rosslare Europort. Not only has my passport never been stamped, I cannot recall any place I could find somebody who might stamp it.

It's different is some other countries, where you pass an immigration desk on the way out, and you could, I am sure, request that your passport be stamped.

I've had my passport stamped for exit in Australia,Turkey,Canada,Various carribean countries. They don't stamp it for exiting the U.S - you just have to make sure the airline pulls off the green visa form from your passport [in visa waiver cases] before you board or you may have trouble re entering.
It varies, but it's common when you do not have the passport of the country you are visiting or in the case of the EU,you don't have an EU or an Irish passport.
