Wanted: Double Bassist, Dublin, for Jazz

    Hi there

    I'm in the process of establishing a jazz quintet, possibly sextet.

    At the moment, I'll be playing sax, tenor/alto
    I have a clarinetist on board
    A pianist
    A drummer (sort of)
    A guitarist

    What we need is a double bassist. We'll start off by playing some of the tunes from the "Real Books"

    I.e. Cannonball Adderely
    Joe Zawinul
    Miles
    Yardbird

    That kind of idea, future plans include gigs, and drafting in a singer for some songs.

    3 of us are 2nd year TCD students (19/20), 2 of us music students, the other is slightly older, around the 23 mark. Plans of original material exist also. Hoping to practise in goldsmith hall on pearse street once a week or once every 2 weeks.

    So, if there are any double bassists out there, especially any from TCD, please get back to me.
