I watched the first episode and am quite frankly baffled by the concept behind the programme. Its a beauty pageant for unconventional looking models which is unusual in its self.... but ultimately its still a beauty pageant. The women in this programme are slightly weightier and some older than the usual models we see on TV but they are still judged on their beauty while standing in their swimsuit. At one point all the women were drenched with water to remove their make-up, while being consoled by Gok and Mylene who were both caked in make-up??? WTF??

This hardly counts as groundbreaking TV as the adverts are suggesting. I can't see how this will end up being any different to any other TV beauty pageant. Ultimately the winner will me a slightly older/larger yet incredibly beautiful person, a person still judged by looks. How does this change anything? Am I missing something?

I am a massive fan of Gok Wan and his other shows, but I am disappointed by this one. I missed it last night, but the week before when the girls were being interviewed by Vanessa Feltz, not one of them could give a decent reason why they were there..i don't know whether this is down to them being complete thickos who are missing the point or that the show hasn't prepped them enough...I just feel the show is falling apart week by week.

    I still love Gok tho:)

What's wrong with evening nudity on tv...?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Gok & Mylene were not "caked in make-up". IMO, there are two serious problems with the way women's bodies are treated in today's media. First, the general obsession with the female form (as if women never liked to look at a nice piece of ass) and secondly, the obsession with a particular type of female body.

While this show addresses the latter issue, it unfortunately perpetuates the first. On the balance, however, I do feel that they did a good job of highlighting just how ridiculous the media's attitude towards womens' bodies is and how much it affects women. I was particularly moved by the part where the women had to face up to their own body hates and could really identify with it-as, i imagine, many other women did.

Absolutely nothing. I encourage more of it.
