Don't normally post here but I reckon this album is best suited here.

So, anyone else got this yet? I just picked it up there over the weekend and its an excellent album... a long way away from his bangin' techno of the early 90's which was where I first became a fan. A good example of a track below...

    'I Heard Wonders'

I love that track, haven't heard the album though.

his earlier albums were a bit hit and miss - there's a few great tracks on them (69 Police, My Mate Paul etc) but a lot of filler.

Nothing he does will ever match this:

One of my favourite tunes ever. Wipes the floor with the other versions.

Felixdhc - really like that tune. Must check it out. Haven't bought a DH album since Come Get It I Got It.

I love the album too and I keep meaning to look up some stuff he did for soundtracks over the past few years. I have 'Lets get killed' which I think is much rawer (rawer?) than the Holy Pictures, but in a good way. I missed him at Electric Picnic :(

The David Holmes mix of Smokebelch II I would literally consider historic and absolutely in the top electronic tracks ever made... it is nearly 15 minutes of epic electronic music that makes you dance, smile and cry throughout - I have seen this many a time when played over the years, and it was always a favourite of mine to play late in the night back when I was young, free and had the time to DJ :pac:

While on the subject of the Sabres of Paradise, another essential release from them is their amazing CD Single with James -

Well worth snapping up if you ever stumble across it.

I think my favourite David Holmes release (even though it's a DJ mix) would be his Essential Mix from 1998 - amazing double CD.

Many a session was had with this in the background in those days!
