i hear they are good , was gonna get one - but got a 2nd hand powercore mobile instead - make sure you have a second firewire buss / card ( not port ) as they tend to only like having a buss to themselves.

I used one of these a good few times.

It's got quite a bit of novelty value. If you want to add character and colour it's great at certain things. If you want clarity and all-round high-quality sound it's not the best.

It gets a hard time on internet forums because most are inhabited by the gear-obsessed who don't like to admit that something so cheap can compete sonically with their 10k plus of outboard.

If you are planning to use with PTLE, forget it. You'll have to stick time adjuster on every track you're not running it on.

It'd certainly be a great buy for someone who wants to give vintage character to their mixes.

It's great. I use it on all of my mixes, purely because there's so much variety to it. Next to the instruments here, it's the best piece of hardware I have. Steep learning curve though -esp as the gui is the same for whatever EQ or Compressor you're using.

You can't track with it -hence the name Liquid Mix and it HATES sharing a firewire bus with anything else. But in general, it's fantastic -and so cheap for what you get.

you cant track with most digital outboardy firwires yokes though can you /

although , maybe if you fed the out of one track into the in of another
either by cable or software route path - you could track ?

My mate is giving up the music business to become a chef, he is going to sell me some gear he won't use. The virus keyboard synth he says is picking up dust along with the liquid mix so that's where I come in. Very good points by the way. Thanks.

I wouldn't Dav. How much is it? I'd reckon there's better plug in bundles, I wouldn't say you're having cpu issues? that's the only reason I would think about getting one .

@CQD Outrageous! I'll have you know sir I'm rocking the PT HD.
