Multimedia hard drive

Does anyone have any recommendations for an external multimedia hard drive for under €200? It doesn't need to have have HDMI or anything, I just want something to load content onto from a PC and watch on a TV. Most of the ones I've looked at in the price range get poor reviews generally.

Hi .. I bought the IOMEGA SCREENPLAY 360 GB USB 2.0 MULTIMEDIA HARD DRIVE...the link below is for the 500Gb version

It works great, use a Scart to connect to TV, plays 99.9% of everything I throw at it (never played 1 file for some reason, which would play on the PC)
it comes with a remote that is very handy

I bought one for my sister and her kids, its that easy to use and 3 other lads brought them..but I do recall the price I paid was approx 130 Euro...I think there must be cheaper places to buy..when I see a link I will post it here

There just doesn't seem to be a definitive answer to the OP's question?

I've seen it asked many times & even asked it myself at one stage.

I searched & searched & found many that had some of what I wanted but none appeared to have everything I required.

Eventually I stumbled on THIS & thought I had it cracked until I read a lot of reviews which all said that the user interface Menu (GUI) was pure crap .

I still like it though but haven't bought it.

Is there an answer?

Can anyone really put there hand on their heart & recommend a undisputed good media player?

Can wholly recommend it - you do need to put your own hard drive in it.

The reviews were ones I read online after a lot of Googling & it was about 3 months ago so I can't actually point you to them I'm afraid. I will look when I get a chance in case I kept any of them.

At the time it was the 500GB model (there was no 1TB model available then).

I seem to recall that the user interface was the only real negative though.
