    Hi,

I just spoke with the events person at the Guiness Storehouse who confirmed that there's a DTT launch event on at the moment there.

    Is this a big deal?

Anyone know any more about it?

It wasn't DTT :D This area is so confusing for ordinary folk...

It was a launch for sat4free which is basically a freesat box targetted at the irish market. So it has the usual freesat stations but obviously no irish channels. Again obviously, it requires a satellite dish. The "targetted for Ireland" bit is simply that it doesn't use the freesat name or logo and is preset with a NI postcode.

As I say, this whole area is mighty confusing for the ordinary punter at the moment, the first company to get it all together in a combo box and explain it probably will make a small killing (not a fortune cos there ain't no sky type subscriptions here). IMHO, sat4free isn't there mainly because they are missing the irish channels - I can see a lot of these boxes being returned when people realise that.

The latter stages of this thread goes into some detail on the free4sat thing...
