    Yes the Funky Seomra is alive an kicking!!:D

    This is an over 18's event.

    It has been a hugely successful event so far. The last Funky Seomra was a complete sell out with 250 people there.

    The reviews were excellent! here is a flavour of the reviews: ("This is something truly special, amazing! The smiles on the faces and the freedom with which people danced was just not something seen these days..I'll be back again and again!"

    Participants of all ages fill the spacious dance floor with very danceable music from around the world or lounge on giant Budda Bags in the chill-out area. There are organic snacks, chocolate treats, hot drinks, juices and smoothies available in The Funky Seomra cafe area, which offers very affordable prices. Stunning visuals, lush lighting, top class sound systems, live African drumming, along with the friendly welcoming atmosphere are some of the ingredients which make this such a special night out.


    ‘The Funky Seomra, going there was probably the best decision I have made this year’, Patrick. Eleanor, another participant had this to say: “It was the most mesmerisingly amazing night of dance!” Valerie said “It was a beautiful event… so much more than just a dance event.

    David Mooney, who runs the event, said ‘This is what I have been looking for in Dublin for a long time: a good Saturday night out dedicated to dance, with a great club atmosphere without the alcohol or drugs. I began to speak to my friends about this and realised that many people have wanted exactly the same thing for a long time.’

    I heard this is coming to Galway again this Xmas on the 5th December in Druid theatre.

    I've gone to it a good few times in the RDS in Dublin, has always been a good night. Might make it to the Galway one this December!?

    I like the sound of an event like this but have had a look at some of the galleries on their website and it looks fairly hippyish. Lots of bare footed people out dancing etc. Do 'normal' people really go to the likes of this?
