Aer Lingus sale

I see Aer Lingus are having a joke seat sale, claiming they will pay the fare if you pay the taxes, which of course they refuse to break down and justify.

Yet another failure of the advertising regulator to stop this menace.

Website is currently down for maintenance!
Why don't these people do it at 4am and not 11am when people might want to use the site?

OP - Why don't you take it to the consumers forum.

It's bargains we're looking for here, not mindless rants.

Not loading for me either! Does anyone know how long the sale is on for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,864 ✭✭✭MunsterCycling

4 days my e-mail says, not much is left already so I'd expect this is just to try to boost sales as most seats aren't available for free.

i tried to get that Dyflin and they lie !

one of the lads say that there are only a limited amount of seats available on those flights.
so i tried to go from dublin-->rome, and was charged the full amount. is this right ?

    Correct.
Its only the return flights from a list of selected destinations, that are free. The outward flights you have to pay whatever the going rate is for. Its still reasonable enough all things considered (esp. if you're not too fond of being treated like cattle!)

Got flights to Paris mid November from a Friday to a Sunday for 95 odd earlier. The fare was €0 and the rest made up by baggage, taxes etc. Not bad really.

I was on the Aer Lingus site earlier and they are doing flights to Washington for 30 euro each way. I checked a few dates in Nov and Dec and that price was available. Works out at around 250 euro when taxes and fuel is added.

Are you sure you looked up the right destination? I just went back onto the site and counted 19 different dates in Nov where the one way price from Dublin or Washington is either 30 or 36 euro.

The Washington route isn't doing well so prices have dropped there mostly.
