I loved this last year, there's something about sticking a Classical band in with a Rock band the just raises everyone's game ...

Did anyone see it this evening?
    Burt Bacharach in the Roundhouse.

Not as radical as some of it, I expect, will be as he's always hangin' with Orchestras ...
Nor quite as magical as I hoped as he's a cheesy performer and a woeful singer but, Jaysus, what a heap o music to come out one human.

I can recall two instance from my childhood where his songs, unbeknownst to me at the time of course, are part of the memory.

He's got a direct line to the Source ....

The Roundhouse is my favourite venue too.

Let's not forget the other half of the duo..Hal David without whom the
tracks would be incomplete and only reside in instrumental form in elevators.
The Stranglers do a great version of "Walk on by"

Explain? That doesn't make him a fanny ... Whatever about the second 2 albums the first was completely original to my ears.

i thought the second one was outstanding.. not many people get a concept album right but i reckon he did (ok it had 2 dodgy tracks but the rest were superb)
