Can somebody advise me where i can get the morning after pill in the dublin 15 area without going to my gp? And is it just a case of walking in and asking for it? Thank you

It is a prescription medicine and will have to be prescribed by a doctor.

If you don't want to go to your G.P., have a look for Women's Health Services. (You should really consider going to your G.P. though as it keeps all your medical history in one place). Hopefully other posters will have a better knowledge of the D15 area than I do.

You need to go a dr and get a preseciption.

I would suggest that you try The Meridian Clinic.

    The Meridian Clinic - Roselawn

    Roselawn Shopping Centre
    Blanchardstown,
    Dublin 15.

    Tel: (01) 8208233

The Meridian Clinic at the Roselawn Shopping Centre in Blanchardstown is our flagship clinic. Growing out of the medical practice of Dr Jacqueline Furlong MacCarthy, who has been a General Practitioner in the community for 25 years, we now offer an unparalleled service in terms of the quality and range of our healthcare offering.

We have six full time doctors working with us, and a range of specialities that includes women's health, maternity care, medicine for the elderly, health screening, minor surgery, and occupational health.

There is ample free parking right outside the door, and the convenience of the M50 less than a mile away. Our clinic is over two floors and is fully wheelchair/buggy accessible. The comfortable waiting rooms are air-conditioned and a children's play area and baby-changing facilities are available.

We operate a walk-in surgery Monday to Saturday, however we also operate an appointment based system for patients requiring a specific doctor or timeslot.

In addition to the general practice we offer a range of ancillary services, more information about which can be found by following the links on the left.

Where it is and how to get there:

I would suggest that your ring and explain you want to see a dr in order to get the morning after pill/ emergency contraception prescribed and the sooner you can take it the better.
