Mac-can't send-receive e-mails...

    My e-mac used to 'allow' me to send e-mails and receive but recently it has become impossible and also I am unable to go online (internet) ....

    I may have altered controls in systems preferences.....in my efforts to improve the situation....sometimes it even tries to dial up. I had that system with indigo for some years but now I never use it.

    I only have X 2.8 and I am using Entourage and Firefox.....

    How should I reconfigure preferences and accounts to enable me to send and receive?

    I am a customer of Gaelic.ie (imagine) .....

    How is your computer connected to the imagine device ? Usual methods are ethernet or wireless connection.

    Have a look at this on the Apple site and let us know how you get on.

    How proficient are you with Mac OS ? Can you recall what happened prior to you losing connectivity ? Have you tried a different network cable to the router ? Are there any other computers in your house, do they still have connectivity ?

    Did this start with losing e-mail, did you change providers (phone or internet companies ) around this time ?

    The more info you provide the better we can assist you. Where are you located, I might be able to drop around and sort it for you if you're nearby.
