If a landlord expects a tenant to maintain a lawn on a rental property, should the landlord supply a lawn mower to do so?

    Thanks!

What does your tenancy agreement say?

    avns,
Regardless of what is in a tenancy agreement, any reasonable landlord cannot provide a lawn and expect the tennant to provide the tools to maintain it. Then again this relates to irish landlords and reason can only be applied to 70% of them. (in my oh so humble opinion)

If the lawn is more than twice the size of the house, expect an rust-ridden un-oiled push lawnmower that he picked up on the way pver.

I don't agree. If the agreement is to cut the grass then it's up to the tenant to do just that. How they cut it, is up to them. They can hire a lawnmower.

Our lease specifies that we must cut the grass, the landlord said he would supply a mower, but never did. He tends to do it himself anyway.

But even if he did supply a mower, there is a local enterpring person with a mower who does it for a fee...
